Waking up boyfriend

If there’s one thing I value about myself, it’s being quite resourceful.

  • I think that’s a good characteristic to have because it allows me to get by in life through less means than other humans.

It also is an all-encompassing sort of personality trait that actually indicates other proficiencies, in my opinion. To be resourceful, you also must be quite critical, logical, and creative in order to get the job done. And that’s exactly how I feel when I’m leveraging the HVAC system against my boyfriend in order to rouse him in the morning. You see, this boy is one of the hardest sleepers I’ve ever met. He also loves to sleep in all morning if you let him, which I don’t. I found that nagging him to get up only results in us fighting, but I can utilize our central heating and cooling equipment to further my own goals more covertly. Whenever I get up, I promptly go downstairs and start making coffee. I like to turn on a little fan in the kitchen so that the smell of my fresh brew is spread far and wide through the space, creating an inviting atmosphere downstairs. Then I go to the thermostat and crank up the heat, pumping hot air through every vent in the house. The increased air temperature soon makes my guy feel quite uncomfortable in his sleep, and he begins to stir in bed. As the air only gets hotter, he pulls off the covers and switches on the overhead fan. The coffee smell then wafts up to the bedroom from upstairs, filling the room with a delightful odor of morning joe. It’s only another minute or so after that before he comes grumpily stomping down the stairs, reaching his hand out for a cup of caffeine.
