Birds go nuts

Sporadically I get myself into the most ridiculous situations somehow; I don’t go out looking for trouble or anything, however it sure feels like I’m on the search for something complicationsome considering how often that’s the outcome.

I often take on weird jobs to gain extra cash for instance, which can periodically be more hassle than they are worth in the long run, then for many years I’ve confidently watched people’s homes as well as animals while they went away on extravagant trips, for instance, so why wouldn’t I also agree to take on a dovewatching job when it was suggested to me by a coworker? I have some experience with doves, so I figured it would be no big deal to stop in as well as care for their avian pals.

What I didn’t realize was how sensitive their pets would be to the indoor air quality, then you see, when I first stopped in to feed as well as water the feathered friends, the air felt undoubtedly thick, hot, as well as humid. I could barely breathe when the stuffy air combined with the general dove stench, so I went over to turn on the AC system for a little extra ventilation in the house, but everything was good when I heard the AC unit kick into gear as well as the air began rushing through the air intake vent towards the cooling system. It was another moment, however, before the high quality treated indoor air started to flow out from the air vents all around us! Just as I stuck my head into a big cage to scrub out the dirty droppings, the AC started to clean through the room. Just then, the doves began to panic over the flow of cold air. Everyone began flapping their wings, screeching, as well as jumping all over the cages – including the dove I was trying to care for. Five stitches later, I knew better than to operate the AC system duringteracting with the doves.

End of sinus infections

So long, misery! I’m so done with the wheezing, the slow tickling drainage, plus the randomly intense headaches all around my face.

I’m not going to have a dry nose from blowing or a sore throat from continual mucus dripping any longer.

I won’t be bedridden for nights or dope myself up on harmful decongestants ever again. For anyone who’s ever had a deep sinus infection, you know what I’m talking about; Ugh, they are the WORST. For me, sinus infections start creeping in as soon as the air begins to chill outdoors. Soon the air indoors is just as cold, plus I am cold to the bone. When I can’t take it any longer, I reluctantly switch on that thermostat to power up the central furnace. That’s when the danger particularly begins. Suddenly my problem isn’t a full body chill, but a face-central pain that lasts the entire cold weather season. For years now, I’ve suffered through the pain plus discomfort of the whole ordeal without finding a real solution, but those nights are over baby! Recently I read an article online about the connection between cold winter time air plus respiratory illnesses. It turns out that sinus infections are not caused by the cold air itself, but the dry quality of the air. When you power up your own central boiler at home, it only works to draw more moisture out of the air that circulates through the house. Soon your apartment is essentially an air desert, plus your mucous membranes are susceptible to infection from any airborne bacteria! Not my mucous membranes, they won’t do it anymore. Instead of suffering all season, I purchased myself a dozen humidifiers on Black Friday last week. I’m going to have the most humid indoor air possible this winter.

Extra job for heat

We all know that the winter time is a super stressful time of year for the majority of us.

There are so several additional pressures to fit into your regular life between the months of November plus December, not to mention the horrific outdoor air temperature making every aspect of normal life a complete disaster.

It’s strenuous to get anything done, let alone finding time to purchase the most perfectly thoughtful gifts, shovel the driveway every three nights, plus finding a second or sixth job in order to afford the seasonal hardships. Yes, of course I’m referring to the added costs of buying presents plus visiting with family… but in our home the extra expenses include having to run the central heating at home. You see, our apartment is a rather spacious plus poorly insulated old house. The attic is barely insulated plus a lot of our heat flows straight out through the roof. There are several drafty windows that allow our hot air to leak out plus the cool air to leak in. All in all, it’s a overpriced feat just to keep the indoor air at a moderate temperature. That’s why I have to go out plus find additional labor around September each year, just to support our regular air temperature control at home. By the time I gain my first real paycheck the cool fall air is settling over the part plus I can afford to have a professional Heating plus A/C inspector come out to repair the boiler. From there on out, it’s continual heating each afternoon, every afternoon. It’s a bummer to do all that labor for truly little, but at least every time the energy bill arrives in the mail I know I can pay to keep the family warm.

Waking up wifey

If there’s one thing I value about myself, it’s being quite resourceful.

I suppose that’s a fantastic characteristic to have because it allows me to get by in life through less means than other humans.

It also is an all-encompassing sort of personality trait that genuinely indicates other proficiencies, in my opinion, and to be resourceful, you also must be quite critical, logical, plus creative in order to get the job done, and that’s exactly how I feel when I’m leveraging the Heating plus A/C system against my wifey in order to rouse him in the day. You see, this boy is one of the hardest sleepers I’ve ever met, and he also likes to sleep in all day if you let him, which I don’t. I found that nagging him to get up only results in us fighting, even though I can utilize our central heating plus cooling equipment to further my own goals more covertly. Whenever I get up, I promptly go downstairs plus start making coffee. I like to turn on a little fan in the home office so that the odor of my fresh brew is spread far plus wide through the space, creating an inviting atmosphere downstairs. Then I go to the thermostat plus crank up the heat, pumping hot air through every vent in the house. The increased air temperature soon makes my guy feel quite uncomfortable in his sleep, plus he begins to stir in bed. As the air only gets hotter, he pulls off the covers plus switches on the overhead fan. The Dunkin Donuts Latte odor then wafts up to the home office from upstairs, filling the room with a delightful smell of day joe. It’s only another minute or so after that before he comes grumpily stomping down the stairs, reaching his hand out for a cup of caffeine.

I often take on bizarre tasks to earn extra money for instance, which can sometimes be more hassle than they are worth in the long run, however for many years I’ve confidently watched people’s homes & pets while they went away on expensive trips, for instance, so why wouldn’t I also agree to take on a pigeonseeing task when it was suggested to me by a coworker? Broke HVAC system at listed house

My guy and I have been house hunting for a few months now, and we’ve found ourselves on a few adventures along the way.

Of course, we’ve found ourselves in sketchy neighborhoods more than a few times and made a quick getaway drive.

We’ve also encountered flamboyant real estate agents and eccentric neighbors that made us immediately wary of the situation. The most ridiculous venture of all, however, was last week when we may or may not have ruined an entire HVAC system. The house in question had been foreclosed on, so we were digging around in some dirty and dingy conditions, in general. Since the home had been sitting vacant for some time, I was curious about the heating and cooling system. I wondered if the air conditioner or furnace had been operated in the past several months at all. I was also pretty sure that the whole indoor temperature control system was poorly maintained, based on the rest of the house. All of that curiosity got the best of me, so I started looking around for the thermostat. I soon found the temperature control device and switched on the air conditioner. However, nothing happened. The cooling system didn’t respond at all to the thermostat settings, as I expected. I switched over to the heating function and powered on the system. This time, I heard a definite response as the furnace kicked into gear! About 15 seconds later, however, a huge banging sound rang out from the kitchen, and a terrible smell filled the home. The heater made a final screech and stopped operating before I could get back to the thermostat. After that, we sprinted to the car and drove away as if we just robbed the place.

Ripping up carpeting, found amazing surprise

My husband and I just bought our very first home together 3 weeks ago.

We are still in the honeymoon phase of our homeownership, but I think we’re being pretty realistic about all the challenges coming our way. We knew, for example, that there are a ton of renovations to do before we consider the house fully-livable. There were some big issues, such as getting the roof repaired and installing a new heating system. We also had a lot of cosmetic issues to deal with, such as painting and recovering the ugly floors. We decided to get started on some of the smaller projects, since it would be many months before heating was necessary, and made a trip to the Home Depot for paint and flooring options. During the drive we started talking about what HVAC company to contact for our eventual heating system overhaul. We decided that we would hire at least 3 contractors to provide detailed central heating quotes. We also wanted to make sure we were getting the most highly energy efficient systems on the market, so it would be important to find an environmentally friendly ventilation expert. We knew we couldn’t afford anything too grandiose for our heating system, but we would make due with whatever furnace system we could buy. When we got back home and started our smaller home repairs, we were in for a big surprise. We pulled up the nasty old carpet in our living room and found beautiful floorboards. A few hours later, I found a strange dial hidden in the closet while painting. When I turned the knob, the floor abruptly started warming up! Talk about luck… our new home had been equipped with radiant heated flooring all along!
